Clinics with Julie
Slater

Spend a long weekend taking the fundamentals of Natural Horsemanship to
the saddle
Due to my varied background training horses, I have been able to
assist each individual student with their specific needs, and to work
with the learning they are pursuing at home. The main focus of the
clinic is not to teach my specific methods, but to use those
methods to help the student get a better understanding of horse
psychology and how it ties into all riding methods.
During the clinic we will use the principles of
Natural Horsemanship to take you to the next level in your riding.
We
will ride constantly, and the sheer amount of time in the saddle
will break loose some of the key road blocks standing in your way.
You will learn the basics of communication, both in the saddle and out
of it, which will lay the ground work for better understanding between
horse and rider, and pave the way for you to truly be your horse's
trusted leader.
Format of the Clinic
Every morning we will ride on trails. The way your horse's body deals
with the ups and downs of the terrain provides an irreplacable teaching
opportunity. I will be able to clearly and concisely teach you how to
ride as one with your horse.

Each
afternoon we will go to
the arena to learn how to use Pressure and Release in your training
process. We will apply the principles learned in the morning to the
afternoon, giving you and opportunity to either rebuild your riding
from the ground up or to advance your current knowledge.
