Training
Monthly
training costs $550/month, and includes feed.
Your horse will be used in the feedyard for 30 days. Take advantage of
my experience training
show horses applied to a Using Horse environment.
I try to train each horse w/ each individual owner in mind.
For example, I recently rode a lesson pony for a therapy program. While
I did teach her to tuck her head and flex, I concentrated more on
enabling her to handle rider mistakes. However, the mare pictured here
belongs to a friend who is actively pursuing better riding skills. I
concentrated on teaching her the correct reaction to the correct
signals, improving her reaction time to each signal given. He does it
right... She does it right.

Your horse will be exposed to
- Cattle, cattle and more cattle
- Gates, gates and more gates
- Trucks and heavy machinery of every type
- Four wheelers and mules
Each horse will be rode every other day, rain or shine. Due to the work
load on each horse, I have to feed a lot of grain. Typically I work
them up to 2 or 3 gallons a day, since I prefer to ride a
fresh (even hot) horse, rather than one too tired to think.
Your horse will need a recent health certificate, and shoes. I can help
you w/ the shoes, but your horse cannot enter the yard without the
health paper.

Lessons
Individual lesson are $100/half day per person.
Most of my clients come from far away, and I want to make sure that
they go home w/ enough knowledge to make it worth their trip.
Those who want to learn more advanced riding will find that I first and
foremost teach Natural Horsemanship as it applies to the
saddle. I will teach you to communicate with your horse. That
means listening as well as telling him something. We all want to become
ONE with our horses, and communication is the key to that.
You will ride my horses so that you can learn new skills on horses that
already know them. Bring your own horse, if possible, so you can
transfer that knowledge to your own individual partner.
